The deprivation from social interaction and emotional communication for whatever reason may lead to negative reactions and emotions. The infant misses the opportunity of well organized and meaningful experiences, which are shaping the world around him/her.
In a safe setting, the special use of sound and music by a supportive therapist, can provide affective contact and emotional security for children with limited capacity of social interaction, and create an environment of full attention, coordination and autonomous intersubjective engagement.

Philosophy/Definition

“Musical Movement” aims to provide infants and children that are deprived of physical and emotional care for whatever reason, with the affective qualities of music. Under unfavorable circumstances the children are lead to resignation, depression, isolation or aggression. They feel unable to fulfill their dreams, develop their talents and become able to contribute to themselves and others.

"Musical Movement" provides infants and children with the opportunity to make a friend, music, and to relay on a loyal partner, the therapist. Musical Movement aims at the empowerment of children and families in need through the music, in order to come out from the dangerous circle of introversion and resignation, and enter in the circle of communication, giving and creativity.

The power of music is based on the human need for communication and mental contact through non verbal mediums. Our relationship with music is an act of understanding and acceptance of our emotional life on an affective direct way, and that is why music offers comfort and satisfaction. In the same way, the mother and the baby, through their interpersonal/non-verbal relationship, communicate feelings, realize and empathize with needs. The adaptation of the mother to her child’s social/communication needs and the good quality of their relationship is crucial to healthy emotional and cognitive development.

In music therapy, music is used as a means to connect with the spiritual and psychic world of the child who for whatever reason avoids creative contact with the environment, people, and objects.  Clinically recognized improvisational techniques are employed that aim at the interplay and reinforcement of inter-personality.

Music offers the ability to control emotional stress, and thereby lessen anxiety, hyper-mobility and fear.

In a supportive/therapeutic environment constitutes powerful stimulus for participation and strengthening of bonds with others, reducing significantly the difficulties that arise from the lack of a motivation for communication or other behavioral problems.
